While driving home from Pa my wife & I visited her old home town, Scottsburg In, we looked up one of her cousins who was still living there, drove by her old house & Grandparents house.
Then we drove South of town to The Pigeon Roose Massacre site, where some of her folks were killed along with several others, where a party of "Shawnees they think', attacked in 1812, one family escaped to spread the alarm.
My wifes Grandmother still held 'a grudge' against indians as late as the 1980's when she died. :dontknow:
The area was a 'roosting site' for passenger pigeons, they came in such numbers they would break the tree limbs, until they were all eventually killed off. :'(
Also a pic of 'back roads' in the forest.

Cool pics.

I've read those passenger pigeons were delicious.

Thanks, they must have been. :icon_scratch:
