I finally got permission to detect this property, cant wait to really hit it hard. May have to wait until winter though, it has grown up fast.

There is bound to be some great finds there. Good luck and keep us posted. That is a beautiful old building.

Take a weedeater with you and knock the weeds down. The owners will appreciate it and you can keep track of which areas you have detected easier. Just weedeat as much as you figure you can detect on each trip. It will also slow you down and make you detect the area a little better than just going quickly over the whole area. Good luck whatever you decide

Thanks for the weed eater advice, That's a good Idea. Just have to ask first.
I tried the dirt floor, way to many targets, almost all iron. A carpet of nails and even more smaller shoe nails. I'm thinking I may need to get a shaker screen in there.

Way too many targets. Golly gee batman! That means that any other MD'er in the past passed it up too. It could be a REAL good dig.

TimC good luck.

Out-STAND-ing hunt! Another trick in high grass is a 4X4 clear plexiglass sheet to knock down the grass when standing on the plexiglass. You are able to see through the sheet to dig the item. Go for it! Nice site. Let us know. TTC
