Saw something really pretty yesterday morning and wanted to share.
It was foggy and the bison were feeding in all the little valley's on the Prairie, which made for an awesome sunrise! The bison were "steamy" in the cool morning air.
Thanks for looking!

Good camera, charmin. I got the Canon Rebel XS. You can mess with it, but it does have a lot of standard settings that work just fine for me. Be sure and get a tripod, cause that will help on some shots. When you use the tripod, turn the stabilizer off on the lens and use the timer when you shoot. You probably already knew that, but I ain't no professional and it took me a while to figure that out, but it did help on some pics.

Charmin,
very nice shots. Looks like your getting that camera ready for some fine shots.

Any special reason you went with the T3 and not the t2i.

Thanks; again nice shots.

have a good un.....

Thanks for the tips, RGINN---It may take me awhile, but I'm learning and need all the help I can get.

Nice pictures!

What does the Buffalo say to his son when leaving for work? Bye Son (I have small children so I had to learn corny clean jokes...sorry - my wife hates them too)

Hi Shermanville---to answer your question---the reason I bought the T3 was I got it for a really good price and it came with 2 lenses and some other accessories. Just more or less that the price was right and within my budget. It seems to be a great camera so far! I am enjoying the big zoom (75-300mm) and also the smaller lens (18-55mm). I am still trying to learn how to work all the different settings such as the white balance and ISO.
Thanks for the comments! :hello:

Nice shots, they almost seemed to have been made through a sepia filter lens.

It is actually an image "effect" in Coral PaintShop called "time machine 1960"....it seems to pick up the light and warmth of the picture and bring it out. This effect is probably my favorite to add to my pictures.
Thanks Spartacus :hello:

Great shots Charmin:icon_thumleft:, RGINN is right on with his advice, the only thing I would add would be to get a cable release then you don't need to use the timer, it sure helped cut down on camera shake for me.

Thanks Hammered---I will see if I can find a cable release. I've never used one of those----are they compatible with most cameras?
All these tips are appreciated, guys, and I thank you for the help!!

Play with that 'Tv' or time value feature when you shoot running water, Charmin, and you can get some good effects. I did that with my Rifle Falls pics, which I thought weren't bad for an amateur. Also, I am a transplanted red dirt cowboy out of the Indian Nations in Oklahoma. Came to the mountains in Colorado to stay for 6 months. That was 8 years ago this week.

Charmin, anything to do with bison, be it on nickels or on the hoof, fascinates me. Thanks.
Hi Bill---I am just as fascinated with bison as you.....the place where we live and work gives us plenty of opportunities to take pictures of these majestic creatures.
Here's a couple more from a few evenings ago.....the bison are having their babies right now and they are the cutest little things.
Thanks!! IMG_0738 (800x679).jpg IMG_0707 (800x640).jpg
