About 100 miles north of Las Vegas is Rhyolite . A classic example of a " Boom and Bust " mining town . A littile over 100 years ago this place was swarming with humanity of every stripe . Miners , storekeeps , bankers , bartenders , schoolmarms and gamblers and over 3500 other souls called Rhyolite home . And if you were tempeted to stray to the wrong side of the law , the good citzens of Rhyolite were ready for you ! 100 years on and the jail is quite littearly still " bullet proof ". I can gurantee you are not going to ride up to this thing on a horse and throw a rope around the bars and pull them out ! Thanks for coming along ! Hoss

It,s a shame the BLM put a fence around the bottle house. Are they still storing all that stuff in the jail?

Nice pics
