I was doing a Google search for my uncle. Found this pic of my cousin Allen Ciezki (Mine spelled Cieszki) of the 27th Marines... Viet Nam. He was JUST a KID! But so was I..... EDIT: The rifle makes him a man in anybody's Marine Corps! TTC

Great shot Terry, whoever took it:icon_thumright:. I was too young to remember that much of Viet Nam, I do remember the news footage of B52's dropping 1000's of bombs and programs of special forces eating snakes (sorry that's all I remember). But then came the Falklands, and a few friends fought in that, the mix of emotions started then, and then some time later I joined up. All during the Cold War, seemed somehow safer then though:icon_scratch:, maybe it's just me .

Take care mate

Tnx, Hammered. I went to boot camp at San Diego, and there was one at Parris Island, SC. I was just starting and I was told to wait outside the quanset hut. My cousin came up from behind and tapped me on the shoulder. He was just about done with boot camp. I was just starting. I saw him again in 'nam the day after my first R&R. I know he saw alot of s**t because the 27th Marines were in alot of the places you see in the newsreels. I was also in that stuff in Hué during the Tét Offensive of '68. I am now 100% disabled because of that stuff a long time ago. Todays, American, military is all voluntary. I begrudge no one for not enlisting. Back then, much of this country was not behind the military, like today. Here is something funny that very few people know.... now the whole world will know, I guess.... I actually had my brother buy me a WIG.... long hair type.... so I would fit in! Now, the guys cut their hair SHORT to fit in. Wish it was so, back then. Tnx again, my friend. Terry

BTW, Hammered, I heard those "dumb bomb" drops were only about 3% effective. One cruise will do as much as a plane-load back then. TTC
