Thought I would camp here last night as I believed it would be a kind of out of the way little known spot. I was wrong. About 32 spaces, no hook-ups, but lots of RV's there, and a couple more tent campers besides me, campground almost filled up by dark. Little lake is very fishable, and the weather kept em finicky, but I worked at it and sacked up a few. SW of Poncha Springs, 9200ft. elev., rain turning to sleet turning to snow, and 25 at 5 this a.m. On my scale of 0 to -10 you will freeze your a** off here at this time of year, with -10 being the best chance, about a -7. On my scale of 1-10 you will have a good time, about an 8.

Very nice, So thats O'Haver lake. I always wanted to fish there back when I lived up that way. I would tell the two amigos I hung and fished with, lets go try O'Haver, but they always wanted to go to Antero or 11 Mile. In the summer they wanted to hit the high alpine lakes. I drive by the turn off to O'Haver all the time, but never took the time to explore it. Think I'll do that next time I'm heading over Poncha Pass. Nice shots, Thanks!

Pay no attention to him, Hammered! For one thing, it's a DRY cold and snow up here. (really is) That tent, which belongs to the grandson, wouldn't normally be there as I only put it up when I find sign of bears in an area. Tamrock, it may be closed down right now; I know they were going to shut it off the first week of October to work on the road. They stock that lake. There were cutthroats in there but I only caught rainbows, but 8-12inch range on a brown Rooster Tail spinner. It was very windy and it was hard to fish, but I made up for my whole summer of no luck. I think there's a limit, but that's probably just a suggestion to go by or a guideline maybe, haha! Alright, I kept and cooked two, gave a couple away, and went into catch and release mode after that. (4 per day, 8 in possession)

Hammered...............see that bottom pic? THAT'S what I was talking about! :)

PB, before I saw your comment I thought about what you said last time, when I saw RGINN's pics this time. Still All in All, taking what I have over here (which is really good), and seeing what you guys have over there that is different and, to me, something really special, thermal socks and shorts included, count me in. It gets cold here too in my hide, only -10c compared to you guys when it's calm, but if RGINN is willing to take a greenhorn one day, and you want to join in, lets go.

Yeah buddy, greenhorns are always welcome up here. I do recommend for their first visit to the mountains they come in the summer time, when it doesn't snow as much and temps are in the 70's!

It's OK, I'll take my running shoes. I can't outrun a bear, I just need to outrun RGINN:walk:
