Stay safe guys! Thank God for global warming. Can you imagine how cold it would be without it?? :)
Hey PB :) Thanks, no problem here...as long as the power doesn't cut out (like last winter for 3-4 days)..and wake in middle of the night seeing your breath in the flaslight beam!.., no bursted waterlines thanks to a gas stove (not electric!) and all my coal oil lanterns (8) going steady!...plus I could still cook! ;)

Guess you can't go digging for awhile. Here in Leesburg, Va its 5 degrees but there is no wind or ice and snow on the ground. Back in the fifties this weekend. Hope you all still got power.

A midst the Great Lakes...south s/w shore is Lake Huron, facing Michigan/Wisconsin, north shore is Georgian Bay. Actually farther South then about 11 U.S. states northern borders!...not many realize that! :)

If this winter goes without alot of long warm spells...just might be able to TR. ;)
Long ago I would think my Dad insane for dragging me out on a frozen lake to sit there and watch a line in a small hole in the freezing cold, but I'd give allot now if I could just go back in time and do that with him all over again. He's gone now. I like to check out the cool looking fishing huts they all do up these days. We just wore blankets over heavy coats. No fancy motorized auger, cut a hole with a hand impact ice chisel. I guess I learned a fella can still do things with what little he has on hand.

Great Outdoors memory's are the best I'd say, and yes, all the new gizmo's/ technology they have nowadays...they can have it! ha...I just dress proper and my 5 gal. plastic pail holds all my gear (and it's my seat flipped upside down)....oh! and of course.. a little "belly warmer" in my inside "mickey pocket" keeps the fish bite'n ;)
