Im happy to say im done with living on the east coast and in reno nevada. Brrrrrrrrrr! 7 inches. We had a series of storms in reno, 8 years ago that started with snow. then it rained to ice hwy 395 up really good. Next, it got worse. The snow got really heavy it became a real blizzard for the rest of the night. I lived next to peavine mountain in Stead Nv. The winds kicked up to 90 mph gusts and tore our wood fences out of the ground and they hit houses in the neighborhood. When it was all said and done, after 2 days of crazy snow... we had 4 and a half feet of snow. It took 2 days of snow shoveling in our court just to get out cars out to go to work. I never made it to work. Hyw 395 had abandoned cars strewn, and cars were still getting in accidents all the way down the hill to reno. I turned around and went home before I became a victim on hyw 395. Im so happy to live in southern california now. If I want some snow, i just go to big bear. Im really done with snow.
On the bright side, snow equals money, where I work. 2 feet of new snow equalled $195,000 dollars in grocery sales, up about $50,000 from the same day last year, from a 45,000 sqft. sales area. Well I would celebrate, but I get paid the same whether they do ten grand a day or a hundred grand a day.
