...these are the bigger birds who visit...the Black Hawk is the more rare one. We have some local Great Blue Herons, Buzzards and some Sandhill cranes. We do get Bald eagles but haven't yet got a picture...darn.

Nice.....that black hawk is awesome, what is the average size of the mature birds ?

Cariboo...not really sure of sizes but this one was probably about the size of a large red tail hawk. He had long legs and was perched over the water probably trying to catch some of the bull frogs. They're rare north of Mexico, so was kind of special to see him.

that Blue Heron looks like he is trying to imitate that post he is standing beside. He's probably thinking " If I stand here real still they will think I'm a post." LOL...
