Went deer hunting today, in crispy dry south western Oregon. Saw lots of deer, but no legal bucks.

The morning was rather foggy, and it didn't really lift until after 9, so in this picture there is high fog or low clouds.

My friend looking for a wily buck, and for those used to hunter orange, there is no dress code for hunting in Oregon.

The only bucks we saw were these two little guys butting heads. Both of them had spike horns shorter than their ears.

Same two. They never did let me get a good picture of them. Every time I moved, they did also, and when I finely got them out in the open, they saw me and took off. Saw more deer today than I have in several deer seasons.

Hunting around here is always better when there is snow on the ground.

Nice healthy looking Muleys! ;)

Half the size of muleys, these are black tails. Note the tail on the little buck in the last picture. Actually that tail is darker than a lot of them. Mule deer has a black tip.
