This summer I was walking around behind the house and stumbled onto this little fellow sitting on the ground. After checking back later it was gone.

Might be Saw-Whet, or maybe Ferruginous Pygmy-Owl....both are about the same size. Really nice picture!

EDIT...Nope, after more research, you guys don't have Ferruginous Owls up there...must be Saw Whet. Good call.

In 66 years I've only seen one (1 owl) in the wild and that was in town. Love your pic. Thanks for posting...
