I'm seeing less morning dove around here and more of these eurasian doves. I'm wondering if the morning dove are being run out by these evaders. A morning dove did nest in my grape vines two years ago, but it seems to me they're declining some around here.

Well this issue with the non indigenous species began with Christoper Columbus and who knows if the Vikings didn't have their effect on this continent also. These Euro Dove's are going through color mutations ECD Color Genetics About 3 years ago I took pictures of this almost all white one in the back yard. The last picture is a young one to dumb to get out of the way of my truck on the street. I should have picked him up and hand feed him in to a pet.

Nice! Sweet lighting conditions and great captures as usual. I have been feeding the birds since I've been home, and have a lot doves, and other species.

I've been here in Idaho since 2007. I don't know if I've seen any doves except the collared ones. I have some pictures on a external hard drive that I took not long after I moved here. I need to go back and see if they also were the collared variety. And yes! I do hate that screaming sound they make!
