The kid has good taste, I had an 1971 duster back in the early 80's. Was a fun car.

Sweet! That'll hold it's value over an old high mileage 10 year old Toyota, for sure. Friend of mine in HS had a 340 Duster. That little car scooted along pretty well. You can bolt on some go parts to those slant sixes and it looks like it already has a 4 barrel on it. Their pretty snappy little engines. Nice buy on a well preserved car.

That is sweet!! Those cars are hard to find. So...is there a 340 in the car's future?

I told him for now it's going to stay a slant 6 . When I was 19 I owned a 340 Dodge Demon . I did some stupid stuff in that car , way too fast ! I sold it when we had my daughter , I was 29 years old and a lot safer !

Your son has good taste and a good head on his shoulders for not buying the biggest motor he could get. That car will last him as long as he wants it to and when he gets some experience and the wisdom that goes with it he can upgrade if he chooses to. My brother was a big Mopar fan but I went the Pontiac route. Right now I have a 67 GTO convertible and am looking at a first generation Firebird. But, if the right Mopar came along I wouldn't turn my nose up at it.

Better yet, Build it up like a Sox & Martin Duster. Wouldn't that be fun to hit the road with. I'll bet ya money he'd think the same.:laughing7: Sorry dad, just kidding.

You tell Carson that I think he has incredibly good taste in cars...:occasion14:

In 1976 I bought my first car...a 1972 Duster, slant-six and 3-speed on the
floor. Same hood and everything...looks fast, but ain't. It was a great car,
and it makes me happy to see that the Dusters are still out there.

Only difference I can see is that mine was orange.

Brings back a ton of good memories...thanks for making it possible..:occasion14:
