I climbed up to the top of the Flat Iron mountains outside of Boulder Colorado once and at the top were thousands of ladybugs. You could scoop em up by the handful. Some folks harvest them and sell them to garden supply outlets. I guess they eat other bugs when you put them in your garden. They're a treasure to hunt for.

I've cleaned my shop and picked up and filled a paper bag FULL of those critters.

The Asian type swarm in the fall and the domestic type seem to be more friendly. We have the swarms in the fall where there can be thousands on the house, then some years it's just a few. Lemon in water and spray the infected areas and they're gone, seems that they hate lemon.

Dang - when we lived near an open field - we would get a billion of those puppies every year - what a mess!

You don't have the ones that are black with red spots. I find those ones tend to bite more. The bite is like when a rubber band snaps back on your hand and you get that quick sting which dulls down to nothing over a few minutes.
