Walked down the old quad trail to the claim today (too many big dead fall to drive the quad) and it was nice to see all the moose, deer and black bear tracks using the trail. Seen three bears and two moose. This cow was the only one to stand still long enough for a picture...Later going to set up a trail cam and leave it there for 2 - 3 weeks and see what all is moving.

Cool. Saw four down north of Breck the other day but they were high tailin it over the hill. They lounge around town sometimes here, but they can be dangerous. They particularly dislike dogs.

Cool! There are very few Moose around here anymore, the wolves have pretty much decimated them all.

Was in Fairbanks Alaska a few years back on a project at Eilson AFB, and was reading a newspaper article about a guy who stepped out of an outhouse and was blind-sided by a cow moose...apparently a calf was on the otherside...

Anyways, he was interviewed at the hospital about lessons learned...

He summed it up in 2 words, "Indoor plumbing."

Apparently Fairbanks area get about 1200 or so moose events a year.
