A week ago we drove up into the high country and this Mountain Bluebird landed on the pickup door as it was still open. He was quite inquisitive and didn't seem to be too afraid of getting close.

We have had a lot of overcast with some showers and a few downpours. There for a while we were getting too much moisture.

Great pictures. Are the Mountain Blue Birds as mean to other birds as the Regular Blue Birds?

I am not familiar with what you mean by them being mean to other birds. If you ever have the chance to visit out here in the High Plains and Mountains you will see how vast the topography is. I am sure that Bluebirds may defend their nesting area, but while hiking I observed other bird species and there was no altercation between the two.

Great pics, digger. Really like the bluebird, which is Idaho's state bird. You don't often get them that close. Where are you located in Montana? I'm heading up to the Monida country Friday, for a little prospecting.

The same is going on down here. The dog sure love all the new puddles of water to splash around in on walks. Won't be long til, it'll all dry up, so I guess I'll enjoy it for now.

I been getting into watching the Birds in my area in the last year or so.
Just something peaceful about them.

It's hard to get good pictures of them though, don't see them much, here are the ONLY ones (blurry) pictures :( I've gotten so far of them....the second one has the female with it. Try to get some more of them for us please.
