Beautiful country. We used to play around in a WWII gunnery range, found all sorts of neat stuff. It was at the coast near Morro Bay, California, actually Baywood Park. A few years ago, they spent a lot of money and cleaned the place, and declared it safe. We went rabbit hunting, among other things in there, and nobody got hurt, although some dangerous stuff would show up and be reported from time to time, we, meaning a half dozen teenagers, never found anything.

I'd never herd of the place, so I looked it up. I hardly ever drive that stretch of 80 between Cheyenne & Laramie. I'm either going on 287 to Laramie like I did last Monday or I'm heading north on 25 going to Montana. Back in 1975 I slept the night in a sleeping bag on top of one of the picnic tables at the rest stop with the huge bust of Abraham Lincoln very close to this place. I hitched-hiked all the way from Omaha to the Frisco Bay back then. I was like 19 years old then. Who'd a known I'd be so connected to that stretch of road so many times after that. I can't even guess how many miles I've been up and down that highway over the years.

Yeah that Lincoln bust up on that tower was over west of us and it actually kinda scared me. I didn't take a pic or pull in there. For some reason, it looked like he was lookin down on the highway with an evil look goin 'Bwah-hah-hah'. It made Maria feel uncomfortable too, and she didn't even know who it was til I showed her a penny.
