I was just down south and visited Ft Moultrie just outside Charleston. These are civil war era cannons there, the one with an iron tube and brass or bronze trunions is pretty unique. There were also a couple of repro rev war cannons and one original rev war cannon but they were not in the fort. Mighty big guns here!!

I can't even imagine the fire and smoke that came out of those things.

I'm thinking a few fellas suffered some hearing loss from the results of firing those monsters. It be nice if they'd make one of those operational, so you could get a sense of what one of those sounded like back when they used them. Gone are the days of big gun technology. I wonder what old stink'n Adolf was thinking of his creation here? Was it a practical idea or what?
