I went over Cottonwood pass yesterday and saw a big camper rig went over the edge on the west side. Up through Lake county heading to Leadville I took a picture of Mount Elbert that be the highest peak in Colorado and I climbed to the top once back in 1977 or so after I got out of a graveyard shift in the mine I worked at back then. In the last is the place the truckers on the CB call the "Big D". That's when I go through my transformation and pull out the Ricky Skaggs and drop in the Molly Hatchet and start my flirtin with disaster and take it up in the hammer lane to 80-85 mph. That's the only way I can deal with my arrival back to civilization, plus, I had to get to a place over by the mile high flea market before they closed to get something so I didn't have to deal with it next Monday. I'm so happy I'm not heading west to the mountains on these Friday afternoons, but it won't be long til summers gone and all this mayhem will come to a peaceful end.
