I think that's the old Red Mountain Pass. The roads have been improved from those days. This is a road out of Ouray I'd take to the Camp Bird mine. That old ford of mine is still at it with 329,000 on it. I was up your way today OD. What's up with the wind??.

What wind? lol! Just a little incentive for better gas mileage on the way home. It also pushes all that moisture quickly to the east so we don't get too hammered with a lot of snow, just the mountains catch a little.

So trure!.. I'm barely putting my foot on the gas going home.
Awesome pic, I have been on the "new" million dollar highway out of Ouray. Still kinda scary if you are pulling a tow trailer or fifth wheel. There is one spot where a huge rock juts out and it is tight for trailer of any size (by the way, I saw several big rigs driving this road). I was told that in several places that over the side was about 1000' to the bottom and if you went over they would get you but not your car. I took an alternate route to the Four Corners area when we left that area.
Really did enjoy the pic and glad we are not there now days.
