I opened the front door to look at the rain tonight and saw these lizards on the brick just below the soffit. I think it may be a male and female going by the difference in the tail thickness at the base of the body. I am in southwest Georgia.

Nice looking geckos, I've never seen that pale coloring before. They use their tails to store fat, so a fat-tailed gecko is a well fed one.

They have invaded MS. I had never seen them 15-20 years ago. Now, they are all over my house. They only seem to come out at night and tend to hang out around the lights.

Here is a pic of one I took a year ago when I was trying to ID them.

I'm jealous. I love lizards, especially ones like geckos that hang around and eat annoying insects. I wish we had them up here (but they would freeze in the winter)

Seems lizards and people have something in common lol! Neat looking creatures.

Not good news they're now in Georgia going to drive in movies and sharing the same popcorn. Probably won't make it this far north, Maryland. The occasional 30" snow discourages a lot of southern critters.

The snow and cold there ran me south about 45 years ago. I have been back to visit on occasion but only during the summer months!
