Another shifty day in the mountains

Actually not that bad so far. Better than floatin down the street on an air mattress I guess. Sunshine and intermittent snow showers, but roads in great shape at least. I thought the horizontal icicles were kinda cool. I was very fortunate to obtain a rare pic of I-70 with traffic actually moving on it. Pretty day up north along the Blue River.

I've never seen icicles do that. A lot of wind or the earths gravitational pull got out a wack.

The icicles formed vertical. As the snow slowly worked its way down the roof, the snow/icicles curled under until the icicles became horizontal. We see it sometimes here, but not too often. Nice pics!!

It was only a few of us south central Texans who floated away on mattresses or lost windshields to the hail. I just ALMOST floated away when I went to lunch yesterday. Big mistake, but I'm back on the hill wondering what's next. At least it's warm. Love your pics...

Okay, I see that kcm, great analogy. Amazing that they didn't break off.

Have MANY such pics as this - only this is the front side of the house, so don't get many icicles there. And when we do, they don't normally get very large. Have another pic (SOMEwhere!?!) that shows the snow making a 1 1/4 turn on itself - more than a complete 360° circle.
