I came to understand that poppies were something bad because of this scene I saw in a movie when I was little.

We waited all year to see it on tv back in the day and I did not like that witch and her flying monkeys the first time I saw it. Really pretty shots. Great bee.

I wouldn't watch that movie when I was a kid. It was way too scary for my tastes! I was probably over 50 before I saw it in it's entirety for the first time!

Bees are attracted and see ultraviolet. Apparently poppies show up great for bee vision. Or so said Mary Alice the incredibly "hot" biology teacher who taught across from my class. I admired her persona every chance I got for 20 years and remember her saying that...
