This last week I went to the Mine Expo in Las Vegas. The event is every 4 years and I've been to it over the last 20 yrs. Every time I go to LV it's so much more excessive then the time before and I can only take a total of no more the 36 hours of all that vanity. I was glade as hell to leave that place after a couple days. As for the show I saw so many things and new technology for mining. One thing is for sure I've noticed is less and less of what is available today is not built in America anymore.

Global markets have taken their toll on most American businesses unfortunately. I worked with a lady many years ago that was a seamstress for a major American underwear maker. They closed the plant and moved to Mexico where labor costs were so much cheaper. They soon found themselves losing customers though because of the lesser quality the product took on. They eventually moved from Mexico back to the US where they decided sharing their wealth with workers made much more sense than closing their doors forever because no one wanted their products anymore.
I never got into gambling, so LV is one place not on my bucket list to visit. I know it is much more than that...their shows and entertainment never stop, but I can find that anywhere lol. Somehow they wrangled the PBR ( pro bull riders ) championship away from Oklahoma City, and I never totally forgave them for that:tongue3:. Do I hold grudges? You bet! I still hate Laettner!

PBR is a big time event in LV and I know a few folks who go every year to it.

My brother in law loves the PBR competitions. I bought him and my sister tickets to one in Louisville, Ky one year for his birthday. Those rides sure seem shorter in person.

I went to the Greeley Stampede one time. I remember we did go to the small rodeos they'd have when I lived in Iowa.

I went to LV once. Was working at Continental Airlines, so flew round-trip for $10. Played in the casinos for 12 hours. Felt like a winner, as I went home with the same amount of money I went there with.

...No, don't ever care to see LV again, whether in this or any other existence!
