It is interesting how the side of the crater eroded away allowing you to see the center dome exposed in the center. And the photo of the old wagon is quite nostalgic. Wonder if there would be any relics to detect in the vicinity?

I've been close to this area to a couple short lived mining operations. One was in Denio and the other near Jordan Valley. I like to imagine what it all looked like 10'000 years ago? It must have been like an endless Garden of Eden with many lakes and lush vegetation. Definitely a land of ancient mysteries and really old footwear.

The High Desert Museum in Bend, OR has a child's sage bark sandals on display, something like 10,000 years old. I think they came from Fort Rock cave, might have been Roaring Springs cave, I don't remember. Anyhow, wear on the sandals showed that the kid drug his/her toes when walking, which I got a kick out of, because my dad was hollering at me all the time to "pick up your feet," because I drug my toes when I was little. Shucks, nothing much has changed, I still drag my toes, except now it's due to old age and infirmities.

I see at least one decent looking old wagon wheel, you could make an old rustic western chandelier or something out of.
