I used Photoshop, but Gimp for Windows is free and will work just as well.

Make a rough selection. There are half a dozen ways to do this but the lasso tool is as good as any. New layer via copy, then clean it up w/ majic wand to select and delete green backgrond, then eraser tool. Now you have a layer with just a bird. Drag layer into second photo, edit>transform flip horizontal then edit>transform scale and rotate. Click Layer>matting>defringe to remove jaggies and make layer look less cut-out. Gimp (which is FREE) has all these tools (Not sure about defringe, prob has different name) but the menus might be a little different.

There are many online tutorials, and while the menus of the different programs are different, a lasso tool is a lasso tool, a layer is a layer, etc. etc.
