2 Eagles 1 Owl nesting..

Went checking nest sites today,first one was down the Meadows,looking at a chick..

This C-5 is so big it looks like it's going to fall out of the sky at landing speed..

Next site is about 5 miles as the crow flies,one in the nest..

I watched this one grab a tallon full of straw for the nest,check out his right foot..

About 700 feet from the Eagles nest is mama Great Horned Owls nest,it's out of focus but you can make out mamas big eyes and the chick..

The State will be banding the Eagles the middle of next month,and I'll be there!

I've seen those C5's fly by low. Indeed they seem to be moving way under airspeed. They sure make a distinctive whining sound. If I was a bazillionaire I'd make a flying mansion on one of those.

GE engines whine like that.
