This guy has been living in my yard for a couple of years now, and for some reason the hawks haven't noticed him. He's getting very tame now, nobody has bothered him, so he doesn't run off, but stays around when I'm moving water or mowing. What I want you to notice is his double chin, this guy isn't just fat, he's obese. The hawks don't have any idea what sort of meal they are missing.

Hawks are not stupid. They want something they can pick up and carry.

Buddy of mine had a rabbit that looked a lot like that ... yes tame. His dogs never bothered it. Asked him one day, he said the last dog that tangled with that rabbit got the dickens kicked out of him and was now scared of him.

I remember watching a rabbit whup a snake too. Oh, here it is ... gave that big ol snake all he wanted and then some.

Very definitely an escaped tame rabbit. Don't know where he came from, but he's been around for a long time, like several years. At first he wasn't seem much, but now he is bolder and comes around every day. I'll see him flaked out in the shade in the middle of the day.
