I`ve seen a couple of these in the last week. They have "hooks" on the ends of their front legs and are very colorful. Anyone know what kind they are?

I am fairly certain it is a variety of a moth called appropriate enough a "Bird Dropping Moth" ::)

That is awesome! I think the study of moths is called lepidopterology. I found a weird moth a couple weeks ago and put it in a bug box. Overnight it laid eggs all over the place. I googled it and found out that the little babes would need a willow tree to munch on and because they were glued on the inside we placed the whole box in the tree. ;D I would love to find one like yours!

Thanks Cheryl!
I had never seen a moth like this one before I caught it. I have seen at least a dozen of them since! Weird how that happens. HH----------Bob ;D
