The Greater American Eclipse 2017

If by chance anyone else was able to get any photos of the solar eclipse feel free to tell us where you where when you shot them and post them here. I'll go first.

I shot these photos while I was in Noel, Missouri with my cell phone from behind 2 shade 10 welding lenses.

I can't show you the picture in my mind, but I was in the water listening patiently to what my Excal was saying.

Lasted a long time, I didn't have proper eye wear, but I'd sneak a look, especially when the clouds came around. So, I watched the eclipse beginning to end, and truthfully I should have worn sunscreen, since my history of skin cancers. But as a red head, my arms are nice & brown.

It was a good and enjoyable day, no real treasure, just a couple delights. Just the fun of being out was all I needed. I've added to my tungsten ring collection Did have a pretty nice bracelet that's a keeper.

Maybe it eclipsed on me

This was my very first sound when getting in the water for the eclipse. It was a nice way to begin the evolution! It's the best I did though, but I'm pretty happy with that:

Clear here, and a great view. two interesting things I noticed, that I wasn't expecting. The first was how the shadows on the ground sharpened-up as the sun was obscured. Really sharp shadows, as if they were painted on the ground. The other were the faint, moving, rippling, shadows on the ground that I think were caused by the sun shining through the moons terrain. They were faint, but readily visible, once noticed.

It looked like it was getting close to dusk here for a little while. Was nice.

My pictures sucked. I was trying to hold the special glassed over the lens and take the photo, didn't do well at all. The first picture was when it was just a sliver of sun showing, but the photo turned out with the sun really wide, second picture was through welding hood, after the sun was starting to brighten up. We had about 96 percent here, and with out the dark glasses it didn't look like it was covered at all.

I had a $4k solar scope, just sold it last year dang !
Would have got some stellar shots with that thing.

I missed the whole thing sitting in a vet clinic with my dog.

I tried the solar glasses over the camera lens and that wasn't working, but I did see on the sliding glass door with tinted windows, a small projection of the eclipse. I wanted to go 2-1/2 hours north to witness the full totality, but mama didn't want to go and made me feel guilty about going and not experiencing it with her, so I decided I didn't want to add that one to the list of her disappointments of me. It was a little over 90% and still pretty interesting to experience here in the backyard.

Cool, like the pics. My one night off so I managed to stay awake and sat out front with one of the neighbors while it went on. Another neighbor came by with those special glasses and let us take a look, which was pretty neat. One thing most everybody up here noticed is it got noticeably cooler at the peak.
