This is a night blooming cactus. Lady of the night. One night only and takes three years before it blooms for the first time. The smell is just beautiful too DSCN1285.JPG

That is a Night blooming cereus , but is a central american cactus. I owned one that you have in
your picture I never got mine to bloom. Epiphyllum oxypetalum- Cataceae

Here is a Picture I took in 2005 of a Cactus version without the flower
as they only flower for one night and the flower dies in the morning.

NBC.JPG
Peniocereus greggii- Cactaceae
The cactus variety have a smell of rotting meat, attracts one type of
Moth.
Both have beautiful flowers

I in no way wanted to thread jack sorry my apologies.
Your flower photo is beautiful. They are very hardy
As a house plant, they put out huge 6 foot runners
When they are growing, get kinda unruly ,lol

I know there are different kinds. Mine has the flat stalks with no spines.

I will offer my sincere apology, I meant not to offend you.

You have succeeded where I failed , I had my plant for 10
years without a bloom and was at least 30+ years old when
it was given to me.

I truly thank you for sharing the photograph.

Oh No, you did not offend me at all. They are not easy. It at first got 5 blooms and they all fell off. I was advised to put it outside on my deck. They have to have good filtered light and most of all humidity. Watered only once every two or three weeks. It is so big already don't know how long I can keep it. My house is not that big. Thanks for the comments.
