Fill Light, Clarity, and Curves.

Took this pic last evening of some "yellow bells" (forsythia) at my place.

First image is the original image, no editing just resized for the forum.

The second one is done using a "fill light / clarity" adjustment layer (to brighten up the chadeauxs and better define the edges), then painted the parts of the adjustment layer where I did not want the fill light (mostly everything but the center cluster of flowers) black so that the effect for that area went away. Added a curves adjustment layer to adjust overall brightness and contrast (left the color options alone). Here is the result:

I noticed my daffodils coming up when I left for Nevada last Monday morning. I guess that makes flower time coming soon around home. Thats a pretty picture.

Thanks, wanted the eye drawn to that cluster of blooms

As a "half bleed Cajun", I spell things different sometimes. Why? Only the Chadeaux knows . . . and I ain't too sure.

I noticed my daffodils coming up when I left for Nevada last Monday morning. I guess that makes flower time coming soon around home. Thats a pretty picture.

Thanks Tamrock ... daffodils, jonquils, and narcissus are all in full bloom down here.
