Took a walk down the Meadows to check out the wildlife, haven't seen any deer, coyotes or turkeys yet. These painted have some incredible eye sight,no matter how SLOW I move using trees to hide behind as I sneak up on them...plunk.This one was about 40 yards out..

I wish there were eagles close enough for me to try to take pictures of. They have been spotted in the area but are very few and far between.

The Great Horned Owls were out late, late last night here making all kinds of racket outside, woke me up...and making baby owls from the sound of it!

Nice photos, Chris. I know what you're saying about those turtles. I could never sneak up on them last year either. That one eagle photo looks very intimidating!

I think there's a lot of us who are thankful the weather is getting warmer!

An owl hooting at 3 in the morning is a sound soon not forgotten.

I don't have a horned owl but I do have a horny toad. My Yorkie keeps trying to eat it. He will bite it and the toad will secrete something that makes the dog start foaming at the mouth, But, Charlie must like it because he won't let the toad alone. He doesn't appear to hurt it. Maybe he gets a buzz from it!:tongue11:
