I was walking out to my back yard this evening when I caught some movement above me under the shed roof. I looked up to see these guys giving me the evil eye. Luckily they didn't think I was intruding on their space and let me pass.
I will serve them an eviction notice in the form of a spray can of wasp killer tomorrow night. The nest is about the size of a salad plate and appeared in the last day or two.

Ewww...im one to live and let live but those nasty little buggers pack a wallop...I'd be sending them packing too! I'm not necessarily allergic to them but I swell up like a blimp with one sting. Good luck and be careful, they get mighty defensive when threatened..Ddf.

I neutralized a nest last weekend. They get real nasty when their larvae in the nest start to mature. I've be stung a couple times in my back yard mowing the yard. They seem to get real aggressive about lawnmowers. I thought I was getting hit with hot sparks from the mower one time, before I realized I was being attacked by wasp. The pain and swelling from those stings lasted longer than a week.

The best time to get them is early in the morning while it is still cool, and they are still sluggish.

I took a can of spray out to hit the nest with and thought it would be a good idea to do a test spray or two. I did and the spray worked so I stood back from the nest and hit the button, one small burst and the can was empty! I beat a hasty retreat before the wasps could regroup. I'll buy some more tomorrow and finish the job.
