These were taken Tuesday, the 30th, on my way to work.

DSCN7761.JPG This is the very northern part of our farm. Notice all the dead Ash trees?

DSCN7765.JPG This is my neighbors farm just past the fence row.

DSCN7768.JPG This is a farm on the way to work. It was the most beautiful!!

But then the rains came and everything looks grungy now. At least we had a couple days!

Thanks for looking!

Very nice pictures . This year the trees are late to change and it went quick .I find that even the bare trees of winter have a beauty of their own . Especially under the right light conditions .In fact I think I like the look of winter time trees as much as when they are carrying the green leaves of summer

I like the beauty of the trees with snow on them and, even though it's dangerous conditions, I like how they look when we get freezing rain.

I gotta rake up all the color off my lawn today, as all of the fall colors are pretty much gone around here. It's nice also that the 20 mph winds show up this time of year also and naturally take care of some of the work I need to do today.

That was one of the first huge benefits I relished when moving out to this farm. No more raking leaves!!!! :hello2:

Yes, they need the right combination of sun and rain. This is the prettiest year we have had for a while. Last year was definitely a "brown and down" year.

I visited TX once. It was around Vernon and Witchita Falls. One thing that we noticed there was what few trees we seen, they appeared shorter than the ones we are accustomed to. Do you have a lot of trees around?

Cut em and burn em of course you may go through several chains.:tongue3:

Last year we had a few guys cut them down for firewood. I don’t know what the plan is for this year. We’ve cut a few and some have fallen. One nearly took me out last year. It did take out my detector. Fortunately I had an old bounty hunter and mr WD repaired it.

What were the circumstances that lead up to "nearly"?

The circumstances were set in motion by the Emerald Ash Borer, an invasive species.

Duckshot is spot on. That’s what started it. Then, last year a friend an I were riding on the trail to a spot I wanted to detect. An ash tree fell right between us. It brushed my shoulder and fell across my detector and broke the shaft. My friend said it barely missed my head.

Our fall colors down here were just that, the trees fell over in the hurricane!
