I found this Northern Pygmy Owl near the small community of Clearwater, ID. They're not very skittish, but only about 5 or 6 inches tall and hard to see...I took a picture of this barn in the spring.....Passed by this morning and took another shot in a different light.

There is a reason for that angry look in the one out in the open. I watched it dive out of a tree into the tall weeds after a mouse. I wanted to get a pic of it with the mouse, but when I got closer, it was obvious he had missed his meal. It thought I got to close and flew to this perch and glared at me.

Hey your back, awesome pics of a pygmy owl. I only see great horned owls around here and the burrowing owls are rather rare my area, but there are some.

Thanks Wrightdigger, When I first saw it, it was sitting in some brush right on the side of a country road where I was driving slow....Helps to see them better now that most of the foliage is gone.
