Awesome!

You must have took it during a full moon. The lighting really gives it a special look.

I know where that place is, as back in the late 90s and early 2000s I was in that area a lot. I'd drive from here in the Big D down to Albq. and then head south to see the copper mines in Silver City, NM and then head west on 10 to the mines north of Tucson. I love how you captured the Milky way, I think that type of night photography is wonderful work. I've only read on how to do it and some of the best images require a motorized tracking camera mount to capture some really spectacular imagery in photography. It all sound way above my skills.

Gorgeous shot Ron...:icon_thumright:

Having the Milky Way in the background adds a great bit
of composition..right along the lines of Ansel Adams great
shot.

Many Thanks everyone!...This was one of the rare times when I was driving truck, where I was at the right place at the right time, and actually had some time to take a picture.

Way to much light pollution around here for a shot like that!

Rare indeed..spare time, AND a spot big enough to park a big truck.

You should've bought a lottery ticket that day..:occasion14:

Thank You!...This was a long exsposure taken with a Canon 5D III and 24-105 lens.

I had thought to capture that effect you may have went with a longer exposure. Years ago I used a nice camera and played around with different setting like exposure time.
For instance the foamy creek/ tripod with longer exposure. I have forgotten most of what I took the time and effort to learn but enjoyed the hobby.
I now just use my SS7 and a little luck to capture what I can.
Again, Great shot.
