I only got in the picture to show the size of the juniper tree. It was cut down during a land clearing project and was going to be burned.

I just finished working on it this morning. I made a huge floor lamp out of it. I will post some pics of the finished project in a few days. I will be applying a coat of finish each day for the next 4 days.

Wow! That is a heavy chunk of wood! I'm amazed at your woodworking. How do you do it? Just cut away all the wood that isn't the lamp?

Even in it's raw form it's a remarkably graceful piece of natural art - I've been amazed in the past at how phenomenal of a job you do at bringing out every beautiful detail.

You're truly a gifted woodworker/artist - can't wait to see the finished product

Hi PB,

I flattened off the big limbs on the right side and mounted a 24" diameter piece of granite for a table.

Can't wait until the finished project. How long does it usually take on a piece this big?

Hi narragansett,

Good question, I have been working on this piece off and on for a couple of weeks while doing other things. I have two more coats of finish left to go on it.

Hey Ron
That going to be a double lamp??? Kind of for the old folks that sleep in seperate beds ::)
Don
;D

:lol Don,

No, I thought about it, but didn't want to get carried away. I whacked off half of one of the top limbs, figured I might try to make a table lamp out of the top half.
