Dust Devils are pretty common in AZ. But I have never seen one this large. It is difficult to see in the middle of the pic right now but the sun was just shining on it and it was very bright. The column of dust is hundreds of feet high, as you can tell by the distance from the camera.

Cool !

Been seeing Pretty Many here in PA while out hunting, The last Couple Years.

But never like that either.
Been wishing I Could step in one, But my Guess it would immediately Break up.

They only last seconds here not like on Youtube

with the Bicyclists

Some are pretty strong. They have been known to destroy light structures as in steel sheds. I have driven through two and they rocked the Jeep pretty good. ╦╦C

They only appear to be maybe 3 foot tall here

I think the reason is most of the Ground here is covered in turf of some type,
and only certain areas Dry enough.

Most start on Dirt driveways & ball fields here & Rarely stay in one spot
so it only takes seconds for then to Hit Grass. If they actually Continue They would be Invisible without the Dust

Of course, you can imagine how dusty it would be here in an arid climate. Sometimes you can see a half dozen along hwy 10 at the same time. ╦╦C

Cool pic, Terry. We, like the others who have posted, have seen only a few and they were not very tall and short lived. Once we had several at once at the ball fields. I have been wanting to get water spouts from Lake Erie, but haven't seen any for quite a few years now.
