    Flashback in history

When I was five or six years old and living in Green Island, NY, Our house backed up to the YWCA. On wash days she wouldn't let me play in the backyard.

I don't see what is wrong with using a clothes line. We use ours 90% of the time through out the year. And the wife loves it even better when the Moss Roses grow in the cracks and make it even prettier.

I like it! We lived in PA for a while before heading up to Maine. Pretty easy to spot the Amish households there by the laundry hanging outside. Most folks don't go through the bother of hanging out wash anymore. Too bad. As soon as I finish our new porch another line will be going up! Nothing beats that fresh smell. Good for you!

Bodkin and No gold in NY like this.

"And so the population was gradually led into the demoralising temptations of arcades, baths, and sumptuous banquets. The unsuspecting Britons spoke of such novelties as 'civilisation', when in fact they were only a feature of their enslavement." Tacitus, Roman Senator and Historian, written AD 98.
