There is a fire that is a has gotten a little out of control the past few days. 2 of my friends in Salida were told to evacuate at midnight. It's 100 miles from here. Not much rain. It makes for nice pictures but if the wind is blowing wrong it's very smoky here. Someone at the lookout shared the last picture with me. They were closer the night before and the wind was blowing the low clouds up into the sunset. I'm watching right now the news reporting on that fire. Geat shot of the headframe.

Pretty intense last night for them, she posted some incredible pictures of the fire close up. It was cooler and cloudy up here. Hopefully for them as well.

Cool pics. Isn't that the one that started up some time back and they decided to let it burn, which was a good idea for the area it was in? I saw it when it first started up and no big thing to worry about. Check out that pic by Kimmie Randall I posted in the general discussion forum. Just a great pic, and somehow Salida looks about twice as big as it really is to me.

We drove past it a week ago and no one seemed to mind it. That is an intense picture!
