Took these this chilly 29 degree morning. The coyote was patiently waiting on something to show it's self and I saw this coppers hawk glide very slowly down as if it was floating on a very steep angle into some tall grass and come up with what looks to be a unlucky vole and then land on this beam of a house to gobble it down. Last Wednesday we got a few inches of snow and now the suns out again and I see the mountains have the first visible dusting of snow. Down here on the high plains I'll still have some pretty fare weather days to enjoy as you don't get the real bite of winter around here until January and February. Then it get really cold.

Nice photos!

The Beartooth's Mts. have been covered with snow for at least over a month or so. I'm sure that the mine at Nye still has quite a bit of snow too.

Nice shots! Good to see rodents on the menu.
I'll bet that's what the coyote was listening for. These voles might be busy gathering nest material I'm thinking, making it vole season for the local predators.

That's our local park called Waneka Lake park. It's a great little place for the community. Spent a few picnics and kids birthday parties over the years there. Not so much now that the kids have grown up, but now I take the dogs for a walk around it at least once a week. The place all began with an early settler damming up a natural spring in 1865.
