Just an experiment...Had one small watermelon left over from the season....Put the camera on a tripod set to take seven consecutive high speed images. Used the cameras ten second timer and listened for the shutter.....First click I fired my old model Ruger Vaquero with 7.5" barrel......

Colt .45, 17 grains 4227 powder, 250 grain jacketed hollow point.

I did a tighter crop of the first one showing point of impact.

How far from the watermelon and apples were you?
Only about 10 yards for the melon...I only had one and literally only had one shot at it...I wanted to make sure and hit it in the center.

The apples were only about 20 feet...The apples are not very big, they're sitting on a 2x6...I hit 9 out of 9, but some not dead center.

Yes, .45 Long Colt. I love them...These are the old model that can handle heavy loads.

Cool, nice, I love anything single action. But the prices on 45 long colt ammo are wack.I see you reload ,what does it cost per round ? Heres my baby. 2011_1228Mttohuntdeer4th0060.JPG .45 Colt Cowboy :)

That's a Beauty!...I honestly don't know how much per round...I ordered some bullets from Midway USA over a year ago and don't remember how much I paid. My dad lives with me and he has lots of powder and primers that he's generous with.
