I attribute my love of mining, construction and farming equipment to one of my favorite childhood story books l had so long ago. I think I'll just order up that book on Amazon to read to my grandson.

I attribute my love of mining, construction and farming equipment to one of my favorite childhood story books l had so long ago. I think I'll just order up that book on Amazon to read to my grandson.
I remember that one. It was one of my vavorites in my first and second grade class in Albion, OK.

Loved to listen to steam shovels working. Water boiling, hissing and the sound of buckets scraping the earth. Not noisy like today's diesel monsters.

That is a cool picture. I remember back in the day as kids we would always refer to most heavy equipment as a steam shovel. Sorta like a ice box way back when. Thanks for sharing.:thumbsup:
