I've been spending some of my isolation out doors and avoiding the crowds. These are some from along the creek near home and saw Mr. Owl just chilling and some from up in Poudre Canyon county where a very pokey porcupine was oh so very slowly scaling a tree. I was happy to see it made it through all the deviation by all the forest fires that recently took place up there. A lot was destroyed up there.

That poudre canyon is a dangerous place. When there is a storm cloud warning there, they mean it.
Porky pines and dogs dont play together well. I seem to deal with something like this at least once a year.

In my experience, Eastern Colorado is a place of extreme weather
changes, and it can happen fast.

It was nice in some areas, but a lot of acres have been chard from the fires. Saw some home sites where nothing but the stone fireplace was standing. Last Wednesday I came over Hoosier pass and could see smoke of a small fire that looked to have flared up, but maybe it was a controlled burn? Pretty bad year once again for the forest.

You cant pull them out. I use a hypodermic needle and razor knife and cut them out. When they go in, the tips barb and make a kind of fish hook. They break off when pulled out, than infection, it never heals, it ends up with you needing a cherry tree to plant in the spring on your best friend’s grave.
