My wife feeds the birds and we have tons. We also have sharp-shinned hawks that come and pick the birds off the feeder. The sharp-shinned is an amazing flyer and gets one or two birds a day. He prefers doves and robins when they are here. Here's a pic of the sharp-shinned after he (she?) hit my bedroom window. Flew off after a bit. Gary
The doves and robins have started coming back. Spring is around the corner. 50 degrees today!
I heard a Flicker making this seasonal sound two days ago, which they start doing before winter ends and heads into spring. Always a sound of change to my ears https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/...Flicker/sounds
Same here at r house. I was in basement and bam the window breaks. I run out and it was a sharp-shinned female or a cooper male i wasn't quite sure. I picked up held it 4 a while and it flew off.
I'm always looking at the feeder 2 c if there are any starlings(hate those birds). Times when no birds are around i can usually find a hawk in the trees.
