They are busy little creatures, aren't they? We have some around here but the only lodges I have seen are way up the river from town. Used to see a lot more of then, but I don't get that far upriver much anymore!

Gary yes it’s so true this beaver nest is across the street from us and they did a great job slowing the creek flow,,They seem to cut everything down during the night from what I heard

Here they most often live in bank dens,the lodge you pictured is rare but does occur.As Toddspoint said they,re a royal pain to farmers,dam up the outlets for rice fields,irrigation ditches and so on.I like to watch them,they,re very smart and seem to sense when you mean them no harm.
