This is a frame of some junk that represents a little about the various items found with a detector. Nothing of any great value but different to look at. On the very left, second coin down is a counterfeit seated liberty half.In the rings there is a white 14C gold ring with no stone. we really looked that area over trying to locate the stone, but to no avail. On the right second coin up from the bottom is a civil war token, don't know what that was doing in the area where I found it. The little gold lockets ,one had a lock of hair in it and 5 coins in the hole dating back to 1864. It's hard to photograph this stuff and get a good picture.
Thanks for looking.

I like the lockets; I collect them.
Shouldn't be too hard to find a stone that'll fit that 14K white gold ring.

I too like the little gold lockets. Ive found a few over the years and they always are fun to find.Another cool find is a old coin purse. When you dig and find the clasp you know you got a good hit and the coins are usually old,

Thanks RMPTR. The frame that covers it is some old oak that I salvaged up I have lots of rings and stuff that I have found over the years, but this stuff in the display represents a little about what the hobby is all about.

Van,
That's a great display. I love the old pocket watches. Have a couple.
Those wings could tell a few tales, as well as the other things.
Thanks for shareing.

Thanks Joe, your right ,it would be interesting to know the stories behind stuff we find.Sometimes things that are not of any real value are the neatest things to find.

Thanks TerryC. This is a really old post from the past. I havnt been on here for a long time due to some personal problems. When I saw your response to this old post I thought that looks like my frame of things and low and behold my old post shows up. Cool.

Yeah buddy I'm down with what Fardenton said, I think. roymonster there was no official badge issued sayin G-man to the FBI, who were and still are lawyers and CPA's with guns. And I realize it's an older post bumped up, but tell us the story about the counterfeit seated liberty half, Van.

In the early 70's Roy there werent many people around with detectors and there was a coin about every 6 inches. I was obsessed with this hobby, probably more then I should have been. Lots of trinket items and good stuff. There is still stuff out there but harder to come by.
