This past week I attended a meeting in Chicago. For those of you that live there or visit often, these will be mundane. However, I visit every other year or so and really enjoy the town, even if it is 4 degrees with a wind chill of -14 and 6-8 inches of snow and 12 inches of slush as you step off the curb and cab drivers that love to sling slush on you if you're standing too close to the curb!

Here's a pic of the Chicago River from my room:

And here's the same view after the snow on Friday:

A view of the hotel I stayed in and where my room was:

And proof I really did attend a meeting. Note the "official" hat of the guy we lovingly call "Marker Boy"

I took these going to a job in Wisconsin, however I did live in Chicago for about 7 months last year for work.

Glad to be back in the Country..

Nice shots Wes, yes a big city is a big city is a big city. YUCK, grew up in a city and yes, nice conveniences, but it is a CITY. :)
I do like the guys hat, shows good demeanor!

The year plus I lived in Illinois while in the military I remember a period of I believe 32 days in a row of never being above 32*, in fact, when the temperature finally got into the 20's it felt balmy!

Nice you still get to travel every now and then, I do miss that in retirement.

Hey Wes,

Thanks for sharing these pics. I never knew that a Chicago river existed. ::)

I can imagine what all kinds of things have been thrown off that bridge.
