You did good Kim!!! I actually did get to see some of it, the snow stopped about an hour before and became just mostly cloudy, so every now and then the star, Saturn and the Moon were briefly making their appearance, so I did get to see it, but no photos, since I knew the up north gal would be posting. :)

Beautiful shots...thanks, Kim. Overcast skies are preventing the show.

CG, you did fine. . . and you're right about the moon being not so easy to shoot :P

Kim,

Thanks for sharing those outdamstanding photos !

Had to work, couldn't see it anyway because of the storm going through.
Thanks again for bringing it in for the rest of us.

Re: Eclipse is awesome, pictures ahhh?

I'm really glad a few of us got to share for those who could not see it. :) Don't feel bad about not getting a great shot. I tried all sorts of settings, with the flash, without the flash, with the tripod, without the tripod, took 100 pictures to get a few good ones.

My intentions are to print a few out and maybe frame a couple for my office. Gonna do that now.

I just wish the stars would show in the pictures too, what a sight that eclipse was!

Good job Moon Girl! I was wondering if you had clear skies. We had some light, spotty clouds and I took about 25 but none with the clarity of your first pic.

What settings did you use on the camera and did you use a tripod?

Dig, I'm so glad I could share for your son. That makes my day. :)

Wes.........your gonna make me fess up aren't you? The first one was on auto with a tri pod, no flash. I probably would have gotten some even better pictures if I um :-[ had it on night scene instead of mountain :-[. What can I say it was dark. I looked at my camera this morning and saw it on MT and wanted to kick myself! :-\

You would not believe the folks around here that had a perfect view and missed it. ??? I guess I just don't get it, a spectacular sight like that and no interest in it? Glad I printed out some pictures so they could see what they missed. :)

Thanks for the pics. I didn't try my camera, it was so cold, my binoculars were shivering. :P

You're getting really good with that camera CG!! I played around and got some shots as well, but nothing I really liked that much - I need to figure out how to get the moon's surface in focus!

Here's two of the shots I took. The first one is the best of my "eclipse" shots, and the other was an earlier test shot of the moon - I screwed up the exposure, but my wife liked this one because of the outline of the trees surrounding it.
